We mainly tested the Rudy Project Tralyx+ on road cycling, but this product also works well for trail running, mountain biking, triathlon… However, it was primarily designed for running.
The lens is photochromic, meaning it adjusts to different lighting conditions. The protection index ranges from 1 to 3. The lens is quite responsive in transitions between light and shadow, such as when a road enters a tree-lined area. The lens is generally very clear with a slight magenta tint. A few reflections are noticeable on the lower part of the lens. It provides sun protection, but it’s not as effective as a lens focused purely on UV protection. Its versatility, however, is interesting, especially for variable weather conditions and cloudy skies.
In addition to its lightness, the standout feature of the Rudy Project Tralyx+ is its very effective fog management. The Rudy Project Tralyx+ is a mix of air protection and carefully considered weight (only 30 grams measured).
It fits comfortably on the nose, you don’t feel its weight, and the Rudy Project Tralyx+ doesn’t slip. The frame is flexible in all directions, so it absorbs any pressure from the helmet.
A great sunglass for mountain biking in overcast weather, protecting the eyes from branches…
It comes in a hard case.
The Rudy Project Tralyx+ is very comfortable to wear; you almost forget you have it on. Its adaptive lens also makes it a good option for overcast conditions.
