The Demetz Suit Category 3 sunglasses are designed for cyclists, runners, cross-country skiers, and other outdoor sports enthusiasts.
Despite the large, wraparound lens shape, the actual weight of just 32 grams is very reasonable, and we experienced no discomfort due to the weight even during long outings.
One of the key strengths of the Demetz Suit lies in its lens coverage, which offers excellent protection for the eyes, especially from air drafts — a real advantage when cycling. We particularly appreciated this feature, even when turning the head or riding at high speeds. The lenses also provide effective sun protection, with a magenta tint that filters light well and doesn’t retain sweat.
But the standout feature of the Demetz Suit is the ability to adjust the tilt of the temples, and therefore the pantoscopic angle of the lens on the face. Why is this useful? To accommodate unique facial anatomies — for instance, if one ear is higher than the other (you can adjust each temple independently). It also allows adaptation to sport-specific riding positions: mountain bikers or triathletes, for example, often have varying degrees of forward head tilt. You can set the angle to 12 degrees, increase it by 8 degrees, or decrease it by 8 degrees.
While this feature is great in theory, adjusting the temples requires some effort, especially since the sunglasses do not come with an instruction manual. Here’s an instructional video link: https://youtu.be/u1YoIiSY_JI. To adjust them, you have to press the Demetz logo on each side of the temples — it’s not very intuitive, requires quite a bit of force, and can feel like you might break the plastic.
The Demetz Suit sits well on the nose and stays securely in place, even when sweating heavily. They also hold well when placed on the head. We didn’t notice any noises or squeaks from the materials — these sunglasses feel solid and durable.
They come with a hard case.
Despite the somewhat unintuitive adjustment system for the temples, we awarded the Demetz Suit a Hot Deal award for its excellent value for money.
