The Protest Adan features a fairly loose cut, which works great for snowboarding and, to a lesser extent, skiing. These are lined pants built to handle cold temperatures and wind. Protection against wet snow is decent, although you might want to avoid sitting too long on damp chairlifts.
The bottom of the Adan pants fits over ski or snowboard boots in a classic way, and there’s a zip with a gusset to widen the leg opening if needed.
To get into the pants, you unzip a long side zip on the right at waist level. Adjustable suspenders keep the Adan pants securely in place. The lower back area is particularly well protected — a real plus on cold or windy days.
As with the Protest Gea jacket, you’ll find contrasting, stylized seams and large pockets closed with Velcro. The hand pockets are secured with zippers for better security.
The fabric has a slight stretch and feels tough — resistant to abrasion and tears, even when brushing against shrubs or trees in the backcountry.
Of course, we would have liked to see side ventilation zippers, especially since breathability isn’t a strong point of this style of pant. But considering the price — under €170 — it’s hard to complain. It’s a great deal, especially when paired with the Gea jacket: you get a full, stylish ski outfit for under €370. At this price point, some technical trade-offs are understandable.
However, for skiers in particular, one important missing feature is reinforcement at the bottom of the legs to protect against sharp ski edges. That addition would help improve durability significantly.
A budget-friendly option for skiing or snowboarding, with a standout denim look for the slopes.
