The Bollé Keystone Mips helmet is fairly lightweight, coming in at 560 grams on our scale. It also comes with a light price tag while offering Mips technology, which helps reduce brain injuries in the event of a major impact. This makes it comfortable for long sessions without putting strain on the neck.
Given its price point, it does not feature adjustable ventilation or a Boa dial for fine-tuning the fit. While the foam padding is reasonably comfortable, we noticed quite a bit of creaking from the Mips structure, which can be rather annoying.
The ear pads provide good protection from the cold, and a major plus is the acoustic performance: you can still clearly hear your surroundings, which is important for safety.
The goggle strap attachment is classic and uses a simple elastic loop. The Bollé Keystone Mips tends to feel quite warm on sunny days.
The chinstrap is well padded, and its length adjustment is handled in a traditional way with a buckle.
A lightweight helmet at a reduced price, yet still equipped with Mips technology.
