Sun ValleyKholl

The Sun Valley Kholl ski jacket exudes undeniable elegance with its shawl collar and soft fur-lined hood, metal-look zippers framed by black or khaki bands (depending on the model), and its fitted cut. It attracts attention both on the slopes and in the streets.

The Kholl jacket from Sun Valley closes with a double central zip. The first is a black plastic zipper, protected by a fabric strip on the inside that extends to the top of the collar to prevent it from catching on base layers. The top is even lined with a softer layer, creating a fold that protects the chin from friction.

The second zip is a plastic zipper with a gold metal-like finish. The effect is very classy while remaining visually light. The movement of the two zips is very smooth. This double closure ensures perfect thermal and waterproof sealing. It also allows the jacket to close all the way to the top of the neck, while keeping the hood and collar closures open. It’s worth noting that it’s possible to only zip the outer zipper for faster use, but the insulation is reduced.

When the outer zipper is fully closed, the fur creates a very warm and soft collar, perfectly protecting the neck.

The hood of the Kholl jacket from Sun Valley is large, lined with fur. When closed, it offers a narrowed opening that protects from the elements and gives an Inuit-inspired style. A tightening loop at the back of the head (made of plastic, so it doesn’t weigh down the hood) allows you to adjust the visor effect. It’s important to note that the field of vision is narrowed and may be problematic while skiing.

The fur is removable and fixed with simple snap fasteners, allowing you to change up your style and making it easier to wash.

The sleeves of the Kholl jacket from Sun Valley are quite long, ending with a Lycra cuff with a thumbhole, which ensures a thermal bridge with ski gloves, mittens, or thin gloves. However, this Lycra cuff starts a bit too high, squeezing the space and compressing the base layers, which is uncomfortable.

The end of the sleeves is equipped with a fabric flap that widens the opening for easy access to gloves and mittens, along with a Velcro tightening strap to secure everything.

The Kholl jacket from Sun Valley has many pockets, all secured with zippers.

Two side pockets with diagonal zippers are deep enough to keep your hands warm. Each zip’s end has a plastic piece that ensures the pocket is fully sealed, preventing water from entering. Inside the right pocket is a cord with a hook to secure keys or gloves.

The Kholl jacket offers two more chest pockets with horizontal zippers. They’re shallow but ideal for a credit card, ID, lip balm, or a granola bar. Again, a sealing system is placed at each end of the zipper.

Another pocket is located on the left forearm for a ski pass or other small items. It’s large and equipped with a large, elegant loop for better handling with gloves. It also has a sealing system.

The last pockets are inside the Kholl jacket, with zippers, one on each side. The right pocket has a mesh fabric and comes with a cleaning cloth for glasses.

The Kholl jacket from Sun Valley features an elasticated snow skirt that does its job perfectly. Each end can be clipped with a snap to prevent it from moving around and getting in the way when not needed, adding both utility and aesthetics.

Two drawstrings at the waist help close the thermal bridge.

A hanging loop at the neck allows the jacket to be hung on a hook without deforming the hood.

The Sun Valley logo is elegantly embroidered at the chest, adding a touch of class.

The Kholl jacket from Sun Valley is lined and warm (it’s not a shell jacket). It fits true to size. However, it’s worth noting that you can’t layer too much underneath because of its fitted cut. It doesn’t seem suitable for extreme cold temperatures.

The interior of the Kholl jacket from Sun Valley is lined with a silky fabric, soft and warm to the touch, immediately redistributing body heat. However, it is fragile.

The jacket is waterproof, with water running off well, but prolonged exposure to rain should be avoided.

It comes in two models: White (solid) and Caviar (geometric print).

The Kholl jacket from Sun Valley is comfortable (without too many layers underneath), stylish, and technical. It is waterproof while remaining breathable. It dries relatively quickly. We were very impressed by this beautiful product.
