Quechua PST 900 Mips

The Quechua PST 900 Mips helmet shows a high level of material quality and finishing. You immediately notice the small brushed-metal buckles, the thin decorative trim around the head, the ventilation vents that can be opened or closed (super useful), and the semi-rigid, very well-designed ear pads. The back of the helmet also looks great and feels premium. The inside of the Quechua PST 900 Mips is equally well crafted, with quality materials throughout. Notably, unlike many helmets, the Mips integration is very well executed—the helmet doesn’t squeak!

There are, however, three points worth mentioning. First, the adjustment dial makes a rather unappealing sound. Second, the base of the ear pads is a bit stiff, and you feel some pressure when tightening the chinstrap. On the other hand, the ear pads let ambient sounds through very well—a big plus. Finally, it could use a small tab or grip to make it easier to catch the thin elastic strap used to hold the ski goggles at the back of the helmet.

Its main strength: as mentioned, the Quechua PST 900 Mips is equipped with MIPS technology.

Overall, it’s a good helmet for skiing or snowboarding, with solid engineering, adjustable vents, Mips, and generally premium-feeling materials.
