We were able to test the Demetz Wax ski goggles over several weeks in a wide range of conditions: heavy snowfall, wet weather, bright sunshine, and fog.
The Demetz Wax comes with two interchangeable lenses. Unlike some models from other brands, swapping the lenses is incredibly easy. You simply pull on the lens to remove it. The magnets are numerous and hold the lens firmly against the frame while still allowing for quick and effortless removal. The unused lens is stored in a textile pouch, which is itself protected inside a semi-rigid case.
The first tinted lens is designed for sunny days and is rated Category 3. The pink lens is intended for low-light sessions, including foggy conditions. Whatever the configuration, the optical quality is excellent in terms of protection, color rendering, detail, and contrast. The field of vision is very good, and in bad weather we did not notice any fogging.
The Demetz Wax is comfortable to wear. Its dual-density foam is fairly firm but has the major advantage of maintaining its shape over time without compressing.
Despite the removable lens system, the Demetz Wax does not creak or produce any unwanted noise. The adjustment strap holds securely on a helmet and its adjustment system is very effective.
The Demetz Wax also comes with an optical insert that allows you to use prescription lenses. Once the insert has been fitted with lenses matching your prescription (ordered by your optician via the Demetz platform), you simply position it inside the goggles.
An excellent pair of ski goggles featuring two high-performance interchangeable lenses and a very well-designed magnetic swapping system. The goggles can also be equipped with prescription lenses thanks to the included optical insert.
