The Eastpak Tranverz L is the second travel bag from Eastpak that we have tested. The other model, the Eastpak Transit’R L, is surprisingly slightly lighter at 3,680 g compared with 3,720 g for the Tranverz L, despite featuring additional carry handles on almost every side, making the bag much easier to lift and handle.
Like the Transit’R L, the Eastpak Tranverz L features an integrated TSA combination lock. This is an extremely practical solution, as there is no need to carry a key or attach your own padlock to the zippers. Simply insert the zipper pulls into the built-in combination lock to secure the bag. It is simple, secure and highly convenient.
The Tranverz L also stands out for its off-season storage design. When not in use, the upper section of the bag can be folded down and compressed, significantly reducing the amount of storage space it occupies.
The rolling system performs well. The small wheels roll smoothly, generate very little noise and absorb vibrations effectively. The telescopic handle operates smoothly and feels sturdy in use. The fabric is abrasion-resistant and features a water-repellent finish.
Storage is generous and well organized. Two compartments are secured with zippers, while a small open pocket provides quick access to frequently used items.
Two wide external compression straps help secure and stabilize the bag’s contents.
Overall, the Eastpak Tranverz L shares the same technical characteristics as the Eastpak Transit’R L, but without the extra carry handles that proved to be both extremely practical and, in our opinion, essential. Considering that the price difference is only around €5, the Eastpak Transit’R L is the clear choice and the model we would recommend.
