The feel of the 361° Kairos 2 has changed significantly compared to the original version.
That said, it remains a very stable shoe, offering a solid balance between ground contact and comfort. Cushioning is generally modest—unless you’re a heel striker, in which case you’ll notice a definite plushness at the rear. But when run with a forefoot or midfoot strike, the Kairos 2 delivers good ground feedback and allows for a decent push-off, though energy return is limited. On long runs, it filters out the worst of the impacts, but it can become tiring if your form starts to break down.
What we appreciated most was its surefootedness and secure landings—with no heel roll at all. At 300 grams, it’s not among the lightest or most aggressive competition shoes, but that’s not what it’s built for. The Kairos 2 is all about comfort and long-term reliability, avoiding the kind of breakdown you sometimes get with more fragile road shoes.
In terms of durability, the outsole includes strategically placed black rubber lugs that provide traction on track or light trail surfaces (like wooded paths), and help reduce wear over time.
The technical mesh is cleanly constructed with no visible seams, and the flat laces provide strong, even lockdown.
A solid, stable, and grippy shoe—well-made and built to last. We enjoyed it on regular training runs and day-to-day sessions.
