This 361° Pacer ST is specifically for short distance running and speed sessions. We also used it for athletics preparing for triathlons.
It must be used for this type of work out because to benefit from its qualities you need to run at a fast pace. It needs a runner with a long stride, precision foot strike, preferably midfoot or forefoot. There is very little cushioning even extremely diffused at the front. The 361° Pacer ST is surprising, you have the impression there’s heel filtration, a relatively soft foam. Running, you quickly notice the ground’s surface and the hard point.
At hight speed, you can do up to 10km of stadium laps or road. The outer sole has minimum grip but enough for turns and rebound. The rebound is basically dependent on the runner, don’t expect any extra pep from the shoe and even less than a carbon plate would offer (this is not the same product range).
The 361° Pacer ST have a narrow form, but the mesh provides some comfort; It does size large (in length). The foot envelopment is quite precise so long as you lace it up properly using the two adjustment areas. Once you do this correctly the support is good. The padded tongue provides good pressure diffusion on the instep despite the thin flat laces. No need for a double knot.
We think the fiit at the heel could be better.
Breathability is good. Another positive point is the durability of this 361° Pacer ST that deteriorates very little after lots of use.
The 9mm drop is surprising due to its performance we thought is would be less.
All that remains is the weight and the price: 225g in size 42.5, giving a good combination of durability and lightness, even if it isn’t the lightest in this category, it is nevertheless tough, and at 120 euros the price is attractive.
The 361° Pacer ST is designed for short distances, speed training sessions and can be used in athletics. It has very little cushioning, and targets skilled runners with a long stride.
