As is often the case with Décathlon products, the first argument in favor is the price. The Kiprun brand now offers a carbon-plated road shoe for just €99.99! You simply can’t beat that. But beyond the unbeatable price, what about the quality?
We won’t keep you in suspense: for any runner looking to try carbon plate shoes for the first time, the Kiprun KD900X.2 is almost a must-have. Why? Beyond the borderline ridiculous price, this shoe delivers high performance while remaining accessible. It’s not a pure racing monster, but you can absolutely aim for a PR with it.
It features very good cushioning, making it comfortable and forgiving, ideal for logging miles during training. The rocker effect is less pronounced than in some high-end racing models, so you don’t have to run perfectly to enjoy it.
The toe-off is clean, even if it could be more aggressive. The fluid transition and light weight were highly appreciated: under 200 grams in size 43. Of course, don’t expect plush foam comfort—this is still very much a race-oriented cockpit. 8mm drop.
Our only real criticism is a minor one: the design looks a bit dated and doesn’t really reflect the shoe’s technical qualities.
In short, this is an absolutely unbeatable price for a carbon-plated road shoe. Awarded the Hot Deal by Test4outside!
