Designed by Santini, this is a hot-weather jersey that we tested with the Santini Karma Delta bib shorts. The outfit (there’s a women’s version too) is perfect for summer temperatures.
Honestly, after riding for half the summer with this jersey we can’t really find anything wrong with it, except the gigantic ticket near the rear left-hand base, which is easily rectified by cutting it off!
For the rest, top of the range fabric, fitted design, great accessories, and no flapping about in the wind.
Let’s start with the jersey’s ability to deal with high temperatures, evacuating sweat thanks to its careful mapped design. The Santini Delta Pietra is very breathable without giving you the impression you’re naked and exposed to wind. It is fairly versatile with 20-degree-C temperatures. The Polartec Power Stretch fabric and Polartec Delta fabric at the back perfectly fulfil their missions to regulate temperature.
The rear section in the back is very ventilated and the front panels filter the wind creating quick drying: wash at 30°C with good washing powder or it has a tendency to smell.
It is very comfortable whilst riding. The collar is the perfect height and the zip is easy to use with one hand (very practical and safe), the curser slides easily and the zip flap never gets caught. Fab zip curser in Italian colours, it also locks in position so doesn’t flap around in the wind. There are two overlaps at the top and bottom of the zip. The waistline doesn’t rise up thanks to the silicone band.
The three back pockets have a standard volume where you can put a wind break, food, etc. We love the sleeve ends that have no seams or stitching and the Santini inserts (thermo-glued?) on the right sleeve.
The look is a question of taste, but our testers liked it. If the color had been white, we would have had even more thermal protection.
The Santini Delta Pietra jersey made with different Polartec panels is specially designed for hot summer riding. The fabrics, careful design, cut and cofmort make this a very high-permormant product. We gave it the Test4outside FIRST Award.
