We had the pleasure of testing the BV Sport recovery socks for several weeks. After trail running and cycling sessions, we also wore them on long flights.
It is always difficult to pass judgment concerning the performance of these type of products: how do you quantify the “recovery” effect? Can we say that they are pleasant to wear after a sporting effort, that your legs feel less heavy? The result is there, but in what proportions? Each person must be the judge of that themselves.
One thing is sure, we now use the PRORECUP®ELITE EVO all the time.
These socks are manufactured using an anti-bacterial ceramic thread. BV Sport says that this material encourages micro-circulation. Skin contact isn’t the most aspiring aspect of these socks, we have found softer. BUT, these PRORECUP®ELITE EVO are not hot, so after a long trail run in the middle of summer they are really pleasant to wear afterwards. The other positive point concerns their durability: even if you catch a nail you cannot catch a thread and damage the sock.
These recovery socks slide on easily across the ankles and up the calves. No need for weight training to haul them on! The sock needs to be put into position and the top of the sock is not too tight so you don’t get the feeling your circulation is being cut off. We would’ve liked a little more support because we did have the feeling that the sock had a tendency to slide down a little.
If you take a closer look at the complexity of the weave, it is multidirectional. The “mapping” enables selective compression zones (calves) and less strong on the tibia for example. These are designed with the utmost precision, which of course explains the high price.
The first time you put these on you immediately feel the stitching at the toes, which by the way is the only stitching on the entire PRORECUP®ELITE EVO: these socks are seamless, made with circular knitting machines. But you soon lose the sensation of the stitching as it softens up.
