This Dynafit Ultra is in line with the oversized lens sunglasses that have appeared in cycling, triathlon, and for several seasons also in trail running. Oakley is no stranger to this trend. We’re not complaining because these lenses are very effective at protecting against wind, mud splashes, and encounters with insects (especially when cycling).
The Dynafit Ultra frame is rather chunky, we liked the overall design and the advantage of wearing angular sunglasses. This product stands out and you want to wear it. These sunglasses are category three UV protection, and they are very pleasant to wear for several reasons. They cling really well to your nose when there’s lots of movement. We mainly tested them while trail running (it will be necessary to check that they fit easily under a bicycle helmet) and you quickly forget you’re wearing them. The arms have just the right amount of tension to hold them on your face without causing any discomfort. When you sweat they don’t slide down your nose.
The very wide lens is also really pleasant. It respects details and has a bluish filtration in accordance with a 3 UV index. We can blame that for the presence of slight reflections. The Dynafit Ultra’s main positive point is the anti-fog system with their side ventilation.
We also liked the toughness of the Grilamid arms. We couldn’t test them long enough to assess their durability. They weighed in at 33 grams, which is very reasonable.
Last but not least, the Dynafit Ultra comes with a quality semi-rigid case, huge but very protective.
The Dynafit Ultra are excellent outdoor-sports sunglasses, very protective and comfortable to wear. Costly.
