FISCHER FISCHER

We skied with the Fischer RC One GT 82 after the RC One 86 GT Multiflex model from the same brand. We found that the GT 82 was more nervy than the 86. But they are both All Mountain versatile skis.

On groomed snow they are very good skis, you can go very fast and very easily on the edges, they grip like super glue. Different maneuvers are done very rapidly, edge-to-edge variations are fast, you find the under grip immediately and without effort.

Lightweight skiers may find the zone underfoot a little stiff but fi you play with the sizing this effect is reduced, notably if you have longer skis. Heavier skiers are fine, only very heavy skiers or very agitated skiers will quickly find their limits with the RC One GT 82 flex.

You can vary the radius with these skis although they are less facilitating than the RC ONE GT 86 Multiflex. Here you need to use a bit more effort with angulation and push the skis, no time for sleeping!

These Fischer RC One GT 82 really love doing wide carving turns, the skier can be serene as Fischer are the boss in this domain.

At average speeds the tips move a bit but as soon as you put your weight on at high speed they stick to the snow and glide fluidly.

Even if these skis speed up easily, you can very quickly turn them sideways in any urgency. To return to riding it’s easily done. There’s always a little inertia on the front of the skis you can feel that there’s plenty material.

As the Fischer RC One GT 82 are lively, doing short turns is possible and they love carving.

With serious ski construction including metal inserts that you can see underfoot, as well as metallic protective tip ends.

But, the top screws don’t give the best effect, but you don’t see them that well. We loved the superb tail with a transparent “fiber” look.

With a classic design the top sheet is efficient against knocks from the edges but not super sexy in looks.

Off-piste on choppy snow the Fischer RC One GT 82 climbs out easily, the tips work well. But they do bang a bit, the skis deform when you really push them. So don’t force them too much in bumpy snow conditions.

In powder the skis pivot with ease and are really a pleasure to ride.

On sheets of ice the Fischer RC One GT 82 grip a lot more than the 86, maybe due to edge sharpening. Be careful they don’t have the same side dimensions.

The Fischer RC One GT 82 are good skis for having fun on and off piste, for average sized skiers. When the ground is rough and when you are riding very fast they lose a little of their magic.
