The G3 Roam R makes skiing feel easy. It’s light and pivots effortlessly. It skids with ease in short turns on piste making for effortless skiing. Once you pick up some speed and you carve it stays solid, stable. Be careful on compact snow, carving it does hold the turn well but isn’t very lively and reactive.
There’s no spring. On tracked snow it also turns efficiently, you can twist and turn around bumps without effort. The flat heel gives stability and the rocker provides an easy initiation into the turn. It floats well in powder but you need a bit of speed to keep on the surface. Because it’s lightweight it is easy to manoeuvre. It’s a ski for all conditions and every day use without any effort required, although probably not lively enough for very good skiers. For any skier level, easy to manoeuvre, light, goes anywhere. Downside: its lack of stability at speed on compact snow.
