Big news at Kästle, the Kästle K 130 P is a very snug fit aimed at technical skiers looking for precision. The flex is really 130. The hard point reaches the tibia gradually. We liked the boot, but we need to see over time if the instep causes a pressure point.
The forefoot buckle system is quite original, very short hooks, which barely protrude from the boot. They are also very narrow: with gloves on or even just with your fingers, it isn’t really super practical, especially the second hook starting from the exterior of the Kästle K 130 P. What’s the trick to opening them? Don’t pull on the hooks but pull on the little lever. A superb design.
Putting t hem on is pretty physical, you can tell that precision will be clear cut.
The collar is very powerful, the shell is very snug around the ankles, pressure transfer is immediate. So, you can really attack right off the bat. There are two other models, one in 130 R and the other with a 150 R flex.
One of the downsides with this Kästle K 130 P concerns its outersole, which is very slippery, because it is practically smooth. We were able to test this boot as a sneak preview in January 2022, since then, Kästle has no doubt reviewed its write-up.
The boot is actually pretty warm for this type of precision product. We loved the original look, which combines aggressivity with good taste. Kästle delivers a top-of-the-range boot, expert, but not overly.
