We fell in love with this Kästle MX 88 ski, its superpower that is raring to go, even more energy than the MX 75.
The MX 88 is designed to go fast, if possible carving on a piste and great long turns at full speed, and off piste.
Powerful and well-built skiers will be happy as Larry with these skis. The MX88 is a TGV – a high-speed train – it is a speed machine, such a joy, you feel like you’re forging rails into the slope.
This powerful and stable ski also has a smoothness when carving that delivers such a fluid and pleasing turn. This Kästle MX 88 is undeniably a very, VERY, good ski, but you must give it pressure, angle and push. You can really push it and it just keeps on going, it never lets you down!
This Kästle MX 88 is just sublime the way it holds the slope, even if it only has 88mm at the waist, the edge-to-edge takes a bit of time, but it grips and exits with such energy. Radius changes are difficult to do, and it stays anchored to a 17.1 metre radius.
This feeling of power is really pleasing, the tip doesn’t budge, the ski doesn’t chatter, it slips quickly into the turn and exits ready for the next. The Kästle MX 88 exits the turn with ease. The tail is well dosed, and the flex is well balanced. The torsional rigidity is well positioned at the fore/aft flex and underfoot, there’s no stopping point, even if you are lightweight, you can ride it so long as you use some speed.
The base is magnificent, well structured, and gives the most amazing glide. Overall the finishing is very good. It has a beautiful metal insert and carbon tip. It really is a beautiful object, not particularly heavy underfoot (1859g), with a high price tag.
The Kästle MX 88 wins the Core Award, for demanding skis. Heavy built skiers and very good skiers will really enjoy these skis. You can ride at high speed with complete confidence thanks to its undeniable stability. For expert carvers.
