Off piste the Nordica Enforcer 88 pops out of deep snow and mounds of snow very quickly. This is helped by the tips’ lift and pivoting ease, you don’t need to force them into a turn, they skid easily. Do be aware of your positioning on the skis if you are a little too aft you will discover a hard zone (30cm) just behind the heel of the boots that can trap you if you aren’t careful. A lightweight skier or someone lacking technique could easily get taken by surprise. In choppy snow and little bumps you lose a bit of fluidity. Don’t take a size too big even if the 186 helps on off piste.
On groomed slopes we were really surprised, they are just like top-of-the-range performance skis. They glide, and accelerate. Their grip was considered really good on groomed snow. Even using a strong angle they bit, and our test skis didn’t even have super sharp edges. We really liked their behavior on groomed slopes.
Short skidding turns are easily done, but if you are carving and you want to reduce the turn it’s more complicated. 18 meter radius with 186cm, they lengthen and hold the turn and you need to know how to manage the acceleration and eventual flex deformation to reduce the radius.
The Nordica Enforcer 88 are fast skis for pushing limits. At high speeds you can remain serene, they are stable as rock. Their only downside is the slight reaction if you position yourself too much to the rear, and if you want to reduce the turn. Heavier built skiers will be able to deal with these two points no problem.
