OakleyFall Line L

We skied non-stop since the beginning of the ski season, six weeks, with these magnificent Oakley goggles. We used them in all possible conditions, extreme cold, spring heat, snowstorms, and rain! The ultimate question: would we have bought these goggles with a price tag of 200 euros? The answer deserves details.

While the Oakley Fall Line L’s performance is top-of-the-range, and mostly unmistakable, its behavior in wet conditions is not up to par. If the snow is wet, if it is raining, they fog up in temperatures above zero degrees. Does the foam at the top let too much moisture pass through? It also reacts very poorly when going from the restaurant out onto the slopes if they have absorbed humidity: condensation. On the other hand, to their credit, the lens is designed for sunny conditions, but its versatility is very limited.

Every other aspect these are perfect. The optical quality is absolutely magnificent, both in the detail rendering and complete absence of any reflections, distortions and even filtering. The panoramic format is thrilling. Despite their XXL size they sit under the helmet and suit most morphologies, except small faces.

The strap holds the goggles in place on the helmet, even in the raised position (a triple line of elastomer). We didn’t notice any aerodynamic squeaking noises. The foam padding is comfortable, overall you forget you’re wearing these at a weight of 185g.

Like all “frameless” goggles, the Oakley Fall Line L will get damaged with scratches and bangs. They scratch easily so be very careful to protect them when carrying them in your backpack or elsewhere. They especially get scratched in the lower part.

In sunny conditions the Oakley Fall Line L protects well without being at a class 4 sun protection.

The Oakley Fall Line L are top-of-the-range goggles with a panoramic lens: very classy product. We really appreciated the high optical quality when the conditions are bright and sunny. They are less good when the weather is humid.
