We tested this back pack in Corsica on an itinerary trip. Mainly used going from gite to refuge over a period of ten days.
As the name indicates this is a travel bag (eventually it could be used trekking) but not at all a back pack for hiking. There is no framework (totally flexible, and therefore once empty very easy to store), two shoulder straps have been chosen instead of one long strap and they are a lot more practical than a single shoulder strap having seen the size of the beast when you fill it to maximum volume.
So this is a travel bag for itinerary adventures to go on the back of a mule or yak, in a 4X4, or the hold of a sailboat… The straps are comfortable, with load carriers (and a chest strap) you would need to see with time how the clips would resist when loading the bag fully.
The large opening enables easy loading and organisation and to find that one tee shirt that is always at the bottom of the bag! Thanks to the lateral zips you can adjust the volume of the bag depending on your needs and therefore keep the bag compact. The six adjustment straps (at the top, bottom and sides) enable you to compress the bag for minimum size.
Inside there are two practical pockets. There are also four extra handles, one on each side to aid carrying if the bag is heavy.
The bag isn’t waterproof but does resist the rain, the humidity will end up getting through the stitching, but your kit will not be inundated. The bag is guaranteed 10 years by the brand, time would tell where rubbing would occur, on the corners or where the straps are attached.
This bag is a very good idea for adventurous travelers, lightweight, very practical, with a large adjustable volume, but remember if filled to its maximum 120L, and depending on its weight, this monster could become a problem to move around if you are alone. There is a smaller version that exists too, 40/60L.
An excellent value for money bag, that is tough, comfortable, simple, and even more surprising if it keeps its promise of a ten year guarantee!
