This Rossignol 130 Track is designed for wide and voluminous feet. For other types of feet the feeling is not pleasant because you lose too much precision. Check your sizing in the shop before buying.
These boots have a walk or ski mode. A strap enables you to go from one to the other. It could be a little tougher and easier to grab hold of, especially when wearing thick gloves.
The 130 Track is very easy to put on. The plastic doesn’t look super high quality but it does the job. Although, in a pronounced flexion the shell on top of the foot has a tendency to distort convexly and therefore you lose foothold and precision. This is quite surprising for a 130 flex.
The buckles are well-designed, efficient, micrometric, which is expected for this price range and technical standard. Manipulating the clips is done with precision and efficiency.
The thin inner sock quickly gives us the sensation of the proximity of the outer shell, especially at the top of both the tibia and calf muscle. A good point is the outer sole which grips well when in walk mode (daily in the resort, freeriding walking on rocks..) The inner sock keeps you just warm enough. There’s polar fleece at the top of the inner sock; the question is why?
To keep your calf warm, or is it for comfort? If it is for comfort, foam would be better and for warmth, in this particular area it isn’t very useful.
The tightening strap is tough, powerful and easy to use and the overall weight of the boot is modest.
