THE Rossignol Blackops Sender TI is without doubt designed for freeride skiing. We were able to ski it in excellent conditions, virgin slopes and huge packs of already tracked choppy snow.
Immediately you see that the Rossignol Blackops Sender TI tolerate everything that you encounter. You can pivot, carve, skid in this type of terrain with ease. You don’t need to find a different position on these Rossignol Blackops Sender TI they are straight forward for experienced skiers.
Of course, the waist width and tip shape help a lot. The latter sometimes lifts a bit too much, it vibrates a bit, but it doesn’t reduce its ability to absorb the shocks and irregularities in the terrain. It doesn’t absorb everything, but it isn’t half bad.
The tail is a little stiff, you feel the Titanal plate that reinforces the structure and torsion underfoot. It has solid edge grip and you can ski it a bit faster than some models in this category.
The Rossignol Blackops Sender TI is confidence building, its tail a bit firmer and a little longer than its predecessor the Soul 7, actually a ski that is a little less fun: when you carve or ride in very deep snow or you need to ride it more leaning back and less flat. The stiffness enables you to hold the turn when you accelerate with needing Terminator thighs or a heavy build.
On the piste despite it being wide and obviously edge-to-edge change being slower, the ski is reassuring. It handles well. The width is perfect for complete flexibility off piste. The tip takes the charge immediately in the turn, it comes back straight away but without being lively like the Soul 7.
The Rossignol Blackops Sender TI is for a skier looking for a performant freeride model but not over the top. You still need a certain technical level to exploit it to its full capacity.
