The new Rossignol Forza 70D V-Ti was tested several times during the previous winter.
We were able to ski the first version on hard snow. It was a ski that grabbed a lot with a very wide tip that felt like a propeller: it grabbed and then released. We didn’t like it at all.
We then re-skied the Rossignol Forza 70D V-Ti on soft snow. We didn’t have the same sensations; we discovered a more forgiving and healthier Rossignol.
This Rossignol Forza 70D V-Ti is undeniably an oversized ski with an ultra-wide tip that allows you to enter the turn very quickly. One might think it’s oversteering, but that’s not necessarily the case on flat terrain. But as soon as it’s on edge, it takes you into the turn and completes it. On a straight path, the Rossignol Forza 70D V-Ti skids.
Once on edge, on fairly soft or even hard snow, it rolls into a very interesting turn. The fluidity is very good, and the sensations are present. However, it’s not necessarily very instinctive to exit the carved turn. If you need to exit its radius, you really need to be quick to flatten the ski and, if necessary, drift.
On soft snow, the Rossignol Forza 70D V-Ti is quite pleasant, reassuring, and not too heavy on the feet, even though you can feel that it has a lot of material in its structure. Even though it displays a good level of performance, it’s not an extreme ski either. Beyond its effects on the slope, this Rossignol Forza 70D V-Ti is interesting in spring snow. Its very wide tip allows for some buoyancy and goes over chunks.
Its pivot is quick, its sidecut lines do the job well. It’s a fairly lively ski considering its weight and size. Like the Rossignol 40D, it has a long edge length that extends up to the front. Despite being a very planted ski, it pivots very easily, and the flex is consistent and well-tuned.
An enjoyable and fast ski at the beginning of the turn. A little less convincing on hard snow due to a very prominent tip.
