Cyclists who spend time in the saddle know how hard it is to find a good helmet. Usually there is always a little niggling thing that’s wrong, especially when you are hauling a**. We were very surprised by this Rudy Project Venger Cross helmet because, embarrassingly, we had not realized that this brand made this type of product. Then we put this really nice Rudy Project Venger Cross on for a long session out. And, frankly, we were speechless. At first we were curious and a bit skeptical, but later all doubts disappeared – this was a perfect helmet.
Firstly, it’s both light and very comfortable. Its light weight (265g with visor) and the excellent weight distribution (the removable visor does not make the Venger Cross nosedive) are very well-balanced: you can ride for a long time without having neck or head pain. The interior foam padding is super comfortable and absolutely no pressure points were found. The fit at the back of the head is important and its adjustment has a particularity: the dial, which is not a Boa system, is the only one that we’ve used that doesn’t make a “cheap” noise and which is soft to use, the testing team were thrilled.
Throughout the summer, we tested many helmets: most brands forget to have insect netting! Not the Rudy Project! And there, once again, we thank you! Even though we believe that this is an essential accessory.
This Rudy Project Venger Cross has all the current standards, and its design is undeniably successful. The lines are elegant, it radiates high-quality and has superb finishes.
One of this helmet’s big advantages is its ventilation: no less than twenty-two air vents are on the Venger Cross. It makes no noise when you’re riding: no squeaking. The chin strap is very comfortable with efficient classic adjustment. No straps drag or flap about in the wind.
The only downside is that it does not adopt Mips technology. But for a “classic” helmet, everything is operational and high quality.
This Venger Cross is intended to be versatile: road and mountain biking. You can easily remove the visor when riding. However, we kept it on the asphalt: it doesn’t interfere in any way.
This Rudy Project Venger Cross is a nice surprise. This “classic” helmet has everything you would expect from an excellent product: lightness, ventilation, comfort, anti-insect mesh, and quality adjustment. It can also be used both on the road and in mountain biking. This helmet definitely deserved the FIRST award.
