This is a bestseller. The Salewa Ms Speed Ascent is designed for those who want to move fast and have excellent grip in all situations. It has hyper-precision in its foot placement due to being so close to the ground. We enjoyed its virile comfort in dodgy situations where foot placement was prime.
The foot is nicely wrapped in and has a curved forefoot that helps it react immediately. The quality of the sole is unrivalled in all situations on wet rocks or paving, dry dusty ground and mud; the lugs release the mud easily. The cushioning is very hard fore and aft so you avoid running with them even on short distances.
There is little in the way of foam comfort and the automatic lacing system is very precise. Even without tightening the laces the Speed Ascent holds your foot neatly. The laces spread the pressure to 7 points. The tongue is comfortable and spreads out the pressure of the laces well.
We would’ve liked somewhere to stock the surplus laces at the top of the tongue. The front of the foot is very well protected thanks to a tough and efficient stone-guard. We tested it over 8-months, the Salewa Speed Ascent showed no signs of weakness, ungluing, the materials stood up to the test. We liked its adventurer look and its compact feeling around the foot.
This is an excellent product for those who want to be adventurous in the mountains and for hikers who want a tough, well-designed product.
