SalomonAddikt

We tested this Salomon Addikt in 170 centimeters. A length too short for a skier weighing 70 kilograms? The size 177 seems more coherent to us.

Overall, it’s a good ski, very easy to use despite a present tail that has some juice. The key word for the Salomon Addikt is: ease. It fits well into the curve, the effects are healthy. It’s clearly oversteering, with a kind of power steering that helps enter the turn, which is pleasant.

Despite its oversteering nature, it doesn’t skid. It stays well in line. A ski that we liked, with which you can easily find the edge. The ski isn’t ultra-powerful, but you can make pronounced angles, it holds well on groomed snow and hardpack.

You can bring the Salomon Addikt onto a long radius, it’s possible even though it has a 14-meter radius. But clearly, it’s more at ease on medium radii: it becomes very pleasant, it enters the tip quickly, it unfolds smoothly, it doesn’t chatter despite its short length, and you can accelerate. Drawback: the Salomon Addikt isn’t designed for very high speeds (you need to switch to the Addikt Pro), but you can reach certain speeds without getting too scared.

The strong point of the Salomon Addikt is the smoothness of the curve, combined with edge engagement. But the carved edge isn’t exclusive; you can easily switch back to sliding engagement. You can ski flat, regain edge engagement.

Be careful with the beautiful swallowtail tails: they can catch when doing skate steps.

The glide was judged very good. For grip on rather steep slopes, you need to be well balanced on it to engage the edge in a carved turn. Continuously engaging the edge on steep slopes in a carved turn isn’t easy at all, you need to actively engage the front, work the flex. Clearly, the Salomon Addikt is more comfortable in slide/carve than in full carve.

Just personal opinions, we liked the very fresh “candy” decoration. We didn’t like the screwed metal tip, which protrudes quite rudely from the structure. The tip can catch a bit.

Very nice base with a really friendly die-cut.

Overall, the Salomon Addikt is a good piste ski, accessible, and stable. It provides interesting sensations in turns without being extreme.
