Völkl Deacon 76

The Völkl Deacon 76 have exceptional grip! They win top marks in the criteria: 10. During this test consecrated to Performant Piste skis the Deacon were the only skis to grip on ice: conditions that you find at the end of the day on a straight slope, artificial snow.

To enjoy the ultra-powerful grip you just need angle and the skis show their know-how by themselves. There’s practically no point in putting pressure on the skis to accompany the movement and increase the grip.

These Völkl are very stable and astonishing with their long radius that is difficult to change. You need power or have a solid physique to be able to change the curve. If you are a technical skier you will have a better chance of deforming them !

These Völkl Deacon ride large curves and accelerate very fast. The tips are stuck solid to the snow. So in the action you feel no vibrations. Despite the speed you remain serene as the structure absorbs shocks and the ride is very smooth.

Short turns may not be their thing, but they don’t baulk at skidding turns.

The Völkl Deacon are heavy  to carry but once on the snow the weight is well distributed and no inertia on the ends. The construction is both well-designed and well-finished. These ultra-grippy skis create very beautiful fall lines.

The Völkl Deacon 76 are fabulous skis for going fast with an indestructible grip on ice. Our only regret is the limited radius. In the same range there are the deacon 74 that are more performant…
