Gore Wear is probably not the most famous brand in the biking world … and yet … the collection is really worthy of a closer look.
We tested the Gore Wear C7 Partial Thermo bib shorts.
The first thing that striked us was the unbelievable softness of the materials and the meticulous care given to the cutting and placement of the seams. The straps are the same, perfectly mastered creation that prevents friction and discomfort that can be caused by bad positioning, slippage in action or being too thick. You quickly forget about the Gore Wear C7 Partial Thermo when you’re pedaling, except for the crotch pad which makes a funny little noise when it comes in contact with the saddle.
The insert is effective over long distances, we have already seen a little better but it is still pretty good. We didn’t notice any rubbing.
The lower back is well protected with a thin and breathable soft fabric. The straps rise up the back while splaying out. The entire front section also has ultra-comfortable stretchy fabric, which stretches easily if you need to relieve yourself.
The fabric on the thighs is very soft and quite thick. It provides thermal insulation. Yet tested during hot weather over long distances, we were too hot. The Gore Wear C7 Partial Thermo quickly evacuates heat even if it is black, but it does remain hotter than a classic product designed for summer riding.
Gore Wear is slightly water repellent and dries very quickly. We liked the large hem that gives your muscle good envelopment even if you don’t have big thighs…
Reflective strips give visibility. A security asset that could have been complemented with a touch of bright color. But the Gore Wear graphic code, is designed mainly around black, gray and white does not leave room for this type of gaiety. You should wear a bright colored helmet and a rear lamp. On the other hand, you do see the salt marks after riding…
The Gore Wear C7 Partial Thermo bib shorts are a great product that live up to Gore Wear high standards. Very comfortable, relatively warm, it is suitable for off-season or long-distance mountain trips.
