A very even all round shoe, the Asics Gel-Fuji Trabuco 3 is very consistent and well designed, but no exciting umpf. The top-level feelings remain one-dimensional. We appreciated the comfortable foam at the heel and toe. Extremely good heel support due to its well studied design. The entire outsole is generally firm: you are in constant contact with the ground. It is very precise in its positioning and so you get very interesting feelings of lightness.
There’s no doubt the chassis has been worked on and so it is lively with good acceleration. The thin laces are not that easy to handle, you need to tighten twice to finish doing them up. Great design: integrated pocket. This Gel-Fuji Trabuco 3 has a magnificent grip but still doesn’t beat the Sauciny Xodus 5.0. But nevertheless the Asics is a reliable and key player in the 2015 trail season.
