Adidas Terrex Agravic Tech Pro

The Adidas Terrex Agravic Tech Pro is officially designed for trail running, it has an integrated gaiter and the famous Boa system.

Weighing in at 435 grams in size 42 (the Merrell Agility Synthesis Zero Gore-Tex lists 325 grams for the same size), this Adidas is too heavy for distances that need good responsiveness and lightness.

Yet, for long runs, runs in the snow, mud, and fast hiking, it is a suitable product. We can’t really understand why it’s so heavy because the materials don’t seem heavy and are finely adjusted. Is it the sole that’s heavy, or the reinforcements?

There is also the question of price, 250 euros, not that cheap.

For the rest, we discover a comfortable, waterproof, and very well-designed shoe. Once again, the Boa system is integrated with intelligence. The Adidas Terrex Agravic Tech Pro opens very easily to put it on, the Boa cable is released when you pull on the disc: and you have a nice wide space to slide your foot in. Just pull the tongue strap to adjust. Just twist the disc a couple of times to adjust the tightening, which is very precise and assertive on the instep. It’s quick and easy. You don’t have an outer lace that absorbs moisture or mud, the Adidas Terrex Agravic Tech Pro has a very fluid design that doesn’t trap snow.

We really liked the high-rise gaiter, which is very waterproof and easy to put on. The top Velcro adjustment is practical and gives a very snug fit to the leg (waterproof without causing discomfort).

The Adidas Terrex Agravic Tech Pro’s sole is flexible, and offers good proprioception, it actually behaves like a thin sole. You have the characteristics of the Adidas sole with cushioning and pleasant spring. The back of the foot is grippy but less convincing at the forefoot in wet terrain. The sole doesn’t change in cold temperatures.

Probably due to morphology, but some testers would have liked the heel to have a little tighter hold. They sometimes noted discomfort from the top of the tongue against the malleolus during ankle flexion.

Well made, solid, this Adidas Terrex Agravic Tech Pro can be an alternative for snow trail running without performance being the absolute aim. Kitted with the Boa system, it is quick to put on.
