Upon receiving the Julbo Fast Lane helmet, we initially thought it was a model designed for ski touring. This would make sense: it’s very lightweight, highly breathable, with basic technical solutions. However, it turns out to be a helmet for road cycling…
Its price is competitive, and it features minimal technical solutions (in-Mold construction), which is puzzling since the Julbo Fast Lane is intended for speed. Surprisingly, there’s no MIPS technology, the head adjustment lacks the plushness of a Boa system, the comfort pads are minimal and poorly fitted, and the chin strap is uncomfortable and constantly twists.
The major positives of the Julbo Fast Lane helmet are its weight, ventilation, and secure fit on the head.
While the Julbo Fast Lane helmet offers a competitive price and excellent breathability, its level of protection falls short compared to current helmets: no MIPS technology. What’s the point? In our opinion, this helmet needs significant improvement.
