We tested the little brother, the Addikt. Here is the Pro version, whose name emphasizes that it is a high-performance ski. However, it’s not a ski for very advanced or physical skiers; it has a good level of accessibility for an everyday piste ski.
This Salomon Addikt Pro is more energized underfoot, you can feel it immediately compared to the regular Addikt. So, you need to balance well on the front and back. Once you’ve made the first descent, you find your rhythm. You discover a fairly solid ski, not extreme. It can suit skiers who like speed, who want grip and stability.
This Salomon Addikt Pro offers quite a bit of ease in edge transitions; you can easily find the carved edge, it happens quite naturally even if it’s not super intuitive.
The ski carves well, so it enters the turn nicely. It sets into the curve very satisfactorily, smoothly. However, changing radii requires a bit more skill; you need to work the ski. A fairly significant size is more comfortable on this type of ski.
Even with a 13-meter radius, the Salomon Addikt Pro paradoxically likes long radii; you get a nice fluidity. When you reduce the radius, you really need to lean forward, deform it, it’s less instinctive. It’s less easy on steep slopes, especially if you want to control the Salomon Addikt Pro in carved turns. You really need to place yourself well in front all the time. On medium radii, you can achieve significant angulation.
The Salomon Addikt Pro has excellent glide and good grip. There’s no inertia at the tip. Apart from budget considerations, we much prefer this Addikt Pro to the previously tested one. For everyday piste skiing, it’s very relevant. We tested it in size 170, which is too short, don’t hesitate to go longer.
This Salomon Addikt Pro is not aimed at intermediate skiers but not at very advanced ones either. You need to know how to manage the slightly firm tail energy, which is logical for this type of high-performance ski. A good skier enjoys it, and a ski instructor finds in this Salomon Addikt Pro a great tool.
You can ski serenely, it doesn’t slip in straight lines, it hardly vibrates.
We liked the colorful sidewalls and the beautiful multicolored base, which gives it a “Candy” vibe. The tip cap is screwed on very roughly. The skis are quite well finished, the perceived quality is good.
A good accessible piste ski, with good grip. However, it lacks adaptability in varying the radius for a person weighing 70 kgs with already developed skills.
