For this lightweight ski you need a heavy build and skill to be able to exploit it. Why? Well it has a very stiff flex at the waist, yet is fairly flexible at the front and tail end of the ski. The zone underfoot is really difficult to deform or bend. Of course noting moves longitudinally or the torsional twist, unless of course you can put plenty of pressure on it.
Due to this turn initiation is difficult problematic. Carving needs good fore/aft balance. As soon as you use angulation and bite the edge the ski takes you on a long (21m), really long curve.
You need an enormous amount of concentration, skill and pressure to obtain what could be called “segments” of a curve. It’s not fluid at all.
It skis much better skidding turns in an upright position. Here the grip is good even if the ski vibrates a little.
Doing tight turns on a steep slope it is reassuring. It is a light ski that handles well (except on its edges) and no doubt shows good performance whilst carrying a heavy backpack.
This ski is more suited to heavier builds who would know to exploit it to its max.
