A bit like Atomic’s Maverick, the first feeling is that it’s a very light and flighty ski. It feels like the ski is too easy, too light and you wonder what might happen if you accelerate a manoeuvre. In the first curve the Atomic Bent 110 is a bit sloppy, wishy-washy, imprecise, weird, not really the reputable Atomic DNA of skis designed like clockwork.
The Bent 110’s big rockers at the front and back give it a very short edge length and contribute to its turning ease. The light weight also plays a role, which is appreciated when carrying them on your backpack (not easy to grip with your hands though, as the width means you have to pinch them, so it’s better to have big hands as they are slippery).
The Atomic Bent 110 takes some adapting to: if you lean back, it slips away, and too much lean in front it doesn’t work too well either. And finally, by staying in the middle, with slight pressure on the tail, on the edge, an exercise to which it easily bends (surprising given its width), and it immediately moves. If you put a bit of pressure on it, it grips and gets into the curve. It’s super interesting and pleasant in wide turns because you can throw your feet way out to either side. It doesn’t shy away from wide angulations.
A pleasant ski whose edges need to be kept sharp because as soon as it loses its grip, its handling rapidly deteriorates. The Atomic Bent 110 reacts well in extreme or medium angulations and is quick in the curve.
Its top quality: absorption. It sends very little vibrations back into the legs. It is very pleasant in chop and on compact snow. It vibrates a lot at the front but you don’t feel it in your legs. This vibrating tip has a disadvantage: when you are on a direct track, skis flat, it can get a bit scary on hard snow. You have to put continuous pressure on it or go on the edge otherwise the ski tends to be fickle, cross over or wander. No probs when you’re on a turn.

Note that it isn’t easy to slide into the cable car racks: tail lift. The tail lift catches your feet when skating. The skis never stand upright because the tail is rounded and not flat.
It is a dual-tip ski because it clearly shows its freestyle/freeride backcountry affiliation. The bindings are mounted centrally with this in mind. You can ski it in switch, extremely practical in gulleys.
Powder skiing, it extracts itself very quickly from the crust and powder. A delight in chop, and a really easy ski that can be used in a larger size. Ideal for freeride beginners: you don’t need an elaborate technique because it is ultra-easy. It is a real joy in moguls because it pivots so easily. The very flexible shovel doesn’t get stuck, it filters. A big guy who likes going fast will quickly deform the rear of the ski.
You can even make small turns on the edge in relatively soft and choppy snow. This Atomic just adores spring snow!
The deco is superb, and the wood grain is visible. The base is magnificent! The ski shows very little wear and tear.
A very good ski you can go anywhere with, even on hard snow. An amazing ski that is very easy, light, and very comfortable in difficult snow conditions.
