We tested this product worn as shorts and over-shorts with the Compressport Trail Under Control Full Tights, a combination that is both aesthetic and efficient.
The Compressport Trail Racing Shorts are ultra-light, we weighed them in at 55g, size M, probably one of the lightest on the market. But the weight isn’t their main asset. These shorts get forgotten about in all phases of running, especially on the uphill where your thighs aren’t bothered, even if they are soaking wet. You have the full range of movements all the time.
They dry very quickly and they don’t get very smelly. These
Compressport Trail Racing Shorts must be hand-washed, maybe the less amusing part.
Very comfortable to wear, they stay in place thanks to the waist that doesn’t slip. A thin elastic cord lets you tighten it a bit more if necessary, which was the case when the pockets are full of gels and so there is a bit of extra weight. For a minute we thought that the cord was fluorescent and so visible at night, but it’s not the case.
The pockets don’t have zips, be careful with your car keys! A phone fits into the pockets: you need to tighten the cord depending on the phone’s weight. It adjusts easily and fast. If you wear a fitted t-shirt or if its kitted out with n elasticated waist like the Compressport Trail Postural SS Top, you can feel the cord adjustment system in the shorts (cord surplus + mini-buckle). Nothing too annoying.
Inside the shorts there are one or two big stitches but nothing to ruin the product’s quality.
The Compressport Trail Racing Short can also be worn as an over-short. Their comfort, ultra-fast drying fabric, practical pockets and their featherweight meant that they won the Test4outside.com FIRST Award.
