The Salomon Lumen 99 QST has a 99mm waist. It has a flattering design and rides like a dream on long turns on-piste. Its piloting turns are second to none, which is surprising considering the width of its waist. Just as efficient on long turns as on steep slopes. Skidding turns are a piece of cake. Off-piste you feel the rigidity in the structure of the ski: on bumpy ground or choppy snow it’s a bit to jumpy, stiff up front.
This is a multi-purpose ski, good off-piste and high performance on-piste. It grips well, its edges bite. You can change arc size pretty easily, except in choppy snow where it jumps a little. A great ski for a good level skier. We’re not afraid to say that this ski is the best of the All Mountain lady’s ski range, if you know how to exploit it to the max. It wins the award for performance and being a challenge: the Core Award.
